Antioxidant-Rich, Moisturizing Vitamins
Skin care experts have long known that vitamins can have a very positive effect on the skin. In fact, healthy skin requires a number of vitamins to keep it resilient, smooth, hydrated, soft and unlined. Vitamins A, C and E are key, with the latter two being powerful antioxidants that help prevent skin damage from free radicals. Free radicals are a dangerous form of oxygen (from pollution and sunlight, among others) that can break through the membrane that protects skin cells to cause inflammation as well as visible lines and wrinkles. Vitamin A works to help prevent sun damage while vitamin C accelerates skin healing. There is also scientific evidence that vitamin C may pass through the layers of skin to help heal tissue damaged by burn or injury, making it ideal for sun care.
Vitamin A is the vitamin most necessary for healthy skin, helping to reduce lines and wrinkles. It is also packed with other anti-aging properties and helps reduce the appearance of stretch marks. Synthetic vitamin A-like compounds, called retinoids, applied directly to the skin have been used to treat acne as well as skin wrinkling and spots caused by chronic sun exposure.
Vitamin C, also known by its chemical name ascorbic acid, plays an important role in healing wounds in the skin. It is vital for the production of collagen, which keeps skin elastic, and even helps to reduce under-eye darkness. It has been shown to protect skin from and help repair damage caused by the sun. There is also evidence that applying topical vitamin C will help rejuvenate skin, making it appear younger by activating the oxidizing influences to which the skin is subjected.
Vitamin E is one of nature’s most powerful antioxidants. It works to protect the skin from sun damage as it also works to rehydrate. By helping prevent free radical damage, it reduces dry, rough skin. And based on the observation that skin damage caused by the sun and other environmental agents is induced by free radicals, vitamin E may be effective in preventing the signs of premature aging.
Moisturizing Aloe Vera
In Azur formulas, we use aloe vera because of its benefit to exposed skin. Because it has more than 200 biologically active agents, it has been found to have anti-inflammatory properties, burn healing effects, and wound and scar reducing properties. In our formulas, they are also used to help keep skin healthy, smooth and superbly moisturized. By bringing oxygen to the cells, it also helps to increase skin’s strength.

Paraben-Free
Parabens are a group of preservatives. They’re known by their chemical names—methyl paraben, ethyl paraben, propyl paraben, butyl paraben, isobutyl paraben, and benzyl paraben—and are compounds commonly used in products such as skin care, body care, shampoos and more. Even though they’re known to cause allergic reactions (and have been linked to certain cancers), they are usually included in formulations to preserve products for long periods of time because they kill a wide range of microorganisms.
Azur creams and lotions are all free from parabens, meaning they contain non-chemical preservatives to safely accomplish antimicrobial protection, also protecting skin in the process. These paraben-free formulas also help to keep skin soft and smooth, during and even after sun exposure.
In fact, the formulas we use are safe, non-toxic, and completely non-irritating to skin and eyes. Use any and all with confidence.
